Sunday 24th July: Edinburgh Previews

Our second night of festival shows brings BBC New Comedy Award 2011 semi-finalist:

Michael J Dolan

On the cusp of the festival, Dolan’s Edinburgh show Dress To Depress is stand-up comedy for miserable grown-ups. Running the full gamut of human emotion from self-loathing all the way to all the other kinds of loathing, he promises to distract you from your increasingly painful trudge towards the sweet release of death and make you laugh for a bit at the sheer awfulness of everything; from time travel and the ghosts of supposedly living celebrities, to the idiots you share your life with, your stupid friends and dreadful family.

“One of the true new comedic voices” – Jason Cook
“spitting out fury with a wry smile” – Chortle.co.uk
“Moments of real genius… I actually cried laughing” –  Wakefield Express

He’s joined by:

George Cottier

Last seen at the Manchester Comedy Festival, Cottier’s Funny Comedy Jokes Hahahaha! is basically his unique sideways look at the world through his own unique brand of observational comedy craziness. With oddball musings on all sorts of topics from the war on terror to supermarkets.

“The comedy equivalent of a blood covered poo” – LOL Comedy, Bristol
