Monday 13th April

Allow us to share with you another exquisite line-up for this month’s Square Hole. We’re joined by an award winning cult legend of the British comedy circuit with a superb and diverse array of additional talent to boot. There’s mad fun to be had, wiseness to be cracked, and plenty of bonkersness evident herein.

Phil Kay

Phil KayA legend of the British comedy circuit who has travelled the world performing his manic and wayward mode of comedy at festivals hither and thither, Kay’s arrival on the comedy scene soon earned him a slew of prestigious awards, nominations and ecstatic reviews. He later hosted his own Channel 4 show recorded before a live audience called Phil Kay Feels. He’s worked with Reeves & Mortimer, Harry Hill and has appeared on QI and Russell Howard’s Good News. The energetic immediacy of his approach to performance makes each of his shows an entirely unique experience. He inspired the likes of Ross Noble, Dylan Moran and Eddie Izzard with surreal explosions of hilarious imaginings and is the very embodiment of a live performer, so his incredible presence simply must be experienced in the flesh.

‘Truly is a mesmerising headf*** genius!’ – Time Out

‘Delightfully, free-spirited or dangerously reckless depending on your position.’ – Chortle

‘The man remains one of the most consistently brilliant and uncompromising comedians of his and future generations.’ – Metro

‘Phil Kay’s been doing storytelling in his stand-up since before it was recognised as a sub-genre of the current scene…’ – The Times

Harriet Dyer

Harriet DyerA unique comic voice, Dyer charms audiences across the country with matchless material, an offbeat stage presence and a truly whirlwind fizz of energy. With her baffling tales of a misspent youth, and bewildering personal epics that are so ridiculous they must be true, she has quickly developed an idiosyncratic and eccentric style of performance and established herself as a truly inimitable raconteur on the comedy circuit.

‘She’s got funny bones!’ – Kevin Bridges

‘Instinctively funny… seems certain to become a comic force to be reckoned with’ – Chortle

‘Dyer made the audience feel at home and managed to wow the crowd… Loveable and delightful’ – Three Weeks

‘a bundle of whimsical hilarity… a breath of fresh air.. will have you in stitches’ – Broadway Baby
