Monday 9th February

Last month’s show was such a great start to the year, and we’re continuing with a line-up oozing with so much talent and quality that we feel spoilt rotten. But the reason comedians of this ilk want to do Square Hole is because the audience is always so bloody marvellous. So please peruse the performers and carry on as you were. And if you’ve not joined us yet, please get your act together.

Chris Stokes

Chris StokesWe love all the acts who perform at Square Hole, but Chris did so at our fourth ever gig nearly 4 years ago and has gone on to win Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival, appear on Dave’s One Night Stand and Radio 4, quit comedy and, thankfully for us, make his selective return. We’re delighted to be one of the places he selects to perform. He’s one of the smartest comedians going and uses those smarts to delve deep into the human condition and our social fabric, all while being sublimely funny.

‘Very smart material… Very skilful… A gag at each step’ – Chortle

‘Encore please’ – Three Weeks

‘Side splitting… hilarious’ – The Scotsman

‘Has the talent to one day have the world at his feet’ – The List

‘Real talent… It takes some flair to mix script, tangents, conversation, heartbreak, and make it all look so effortless’ – The Skinny

Milo McCabe

Milo McCabeA brilliant and mesmeric character comedian who has established his presence in all the major comedy clubs, McCabe has on multiple occasions been an Amused Moose Laughter Awards finalist for his Edinburgh fringe shows in which he showcases a plethora of comic creations. His characters have included a Portuguese reality TV ‘star’ and a man stuck in the mid-20th century struggling to come to terms with modern society, but we have no idea who we’ll meet on the night.

‘undeniably funny’ – Chortle

‘Ridiculously talented’ – Kate Copstick

‘Moments of mad comic genius’ – The Scotsman

‘a whirlwind of charisma, talent and energy’ – allthefestivals.com

‘The genius of McCabe is that each character is so unique, if they weren’t appearing in the same show, you might wonder if they were actually real… a very funny and very satisfying hour’ – ScotsGay

plus

Nicola James

‘a welcome addition to any evening of intelligent stand-up’ – Stagefright Comedy

and

Michael J Dolan

‘Grumpiness has never been so smart or so funny’ – Sarah Millican
