Behold, our second instalment of 2018 Edinburgh previews, which is an absolute treat with our favourite Cornish kook and our favourite (and not just because there’s literally no comparator) IT consultants-cum-comedians. I’m personally already bracing myself for how bonkers this particular evening is going to be.
Harriet Dyer: Soo’s a Prick
Ever wondered why Sooty never doth speaketh? Thought so. It’s time you knew the truth, the oh so sinister truth. Expect usual Harriet Dyer (as seen on ITV1, 2 and Be, BBC3 and as heard on BBC Radio 4 Extra, BBC Ouch) tomfoolery but as a musical with puppets, dance numbers and emotional turmoil. The larks you’ll feel will be different.
“A bundle of whimsical hilarity… a breath of fresh air… will have you in stitches” — Broadway Baby
“Instinctively funny” — Chortle
“She’s got funny bones” — Kevin Bridges
“Dyer made the audience feel at home and managed to wow the crowd… Loveable and delightful” — Three Weeks
Foxdog Studios: Robot Chef
After a year building an invoicing system in Stoke, rock and roll IT consultants Pete and Lloyd (AKA Foxdog Studios) are having a party to celebrate the end of dBASE IV. Returning with more music, characters, and baffling tech – including an augmented reality world and an audience controlled robot chef – this is their most ambitious show yet.
As heard on BBC Radio 4 Extra.
Nominated for the Chortle Award for Innovation and two Malcolm Hardee Awards.
“Ridiculous, unique and so funny your face will hurt” — ★★★★★ The Skinny
“A huge treat for everyone” — ★★★★ The List
“If you don’t enjoy their brand of techy musical comedy, there must be something wrong with your hardware” — ★★★★ TimeOu
