Monday 13th May

May’s Square Hole will be as follows. In addition to what follows there will be a quiz (of sorts) with prizes (of sorts), some scrumptious baked goods and, all being well, a general sense of human camaraderie leaving you with a warm glow. And it’s still sat on top of a distinctly great pub.

David Longley

David LongleyNot only found on the stages of all the major comedy clubs but also in the good books of many a comedy critic and aficionado, Longley has an intellectual edge and finely honed comic abilities. He’s a creatively driven stand up and has taken multiple critically acclaimed shows to the Edinburgh festival. If you saw him last time you can enjoy his new work, and if you didn’t, you can enjoy his new work (it’s not a sequel, just some different jokes).

‘There’s a lot of stuff Dave does that I wish I’d written’ – Ed Byrne

‘Highly original and bloody funny’ – Three Weeks

‘Wonderfully satisfying, thinking man’s comedy with just enough poo to keep the scat fans happy’ – Kate Copstick, The Scotsman

‘Dave seems to be actually driven by the material and, say it quietly, the art… challenges both himself and the audience. AND HE IS FUNNY’ – Baby Cow

‘As intense and intelligent a performer as you’re likely to see.’ – The List

Rich Wall

Rich WallSomehow, due to clashing diaries, we’ve not had the opportunity to enjoy Rich Wall at Square Hole until now and it’s past time that was put right. One of the most joyous new performers on the circuit in the last few years, Rich has enjoyed much deserved recognition of late thanks to the fact that he’s a bright, witty act with sharp, energetic material.

‘lively and engaging’ – Chortle

‘performed outstandingly’ – NCF Comedy
