Sunday 29th June: The Oblong Show

The Oblong Show

Good news lovers of the eccentric cavalcade of experimental comedic miscellany that is The Oblong Show! We’re having one last jolly before a summer break. As the hilarious suicide mission that is the Edinburgh fringe is fast approaching, we’re playing host to some local and national comedy favourites/award winners/nice boys so we can witness the process of them frantically extracting comedy genius from their terrified minds. We’ll also be joined by a couple of spiffing guests doing the sort of weird, fun stuff The Oblong Show was created for. And the resident host and compère will also think of something silly to do (he hopes).

Staple/Face

Staple/Face

Sketch reprobates and skit miscreants, Staple/Face are an exciting presence in a wave of sketch comedy that’s heavy on laughs and silliness and accentuated by the brilliance and energy of its delivery. Their particular talent was given much deserved recognition when they won the Fosters ‘So You Think That’s Funny?’ award last year, but the important thing is that Mike Bentley, Tom Burgess and Sam Nicoresti are nice boys, and between them they are responsible for an awful lot of funny.
