Sunday 14th July

It’s our last show before the summer break and it offers you another preposterously good line-up. Fair warning: there will be no cake this month. Your host will be travelling down from the Durham Miner’s Gala with the corpse of capitalism and a hangover, with no time for baking. Considering last month’s effort, this may be for the best.

Ahir Shah

Ahir Shah

Ahir Shah is a stand-up comedian whose sharp, intelligent brand of humour features a blend of philosophical inquiry, political vigour, and sweet gags. Ahir’s show, DUFFER, debuted at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it enjoyed a critically acclaimed sell-out run and earned Shah his second nomination in a row for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Ahir has performed internationally at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Adelaide Fringe and Just for Laughs Montreal, as well as having toured in continental Europe and India. He has appeared on Radio 4’s The Now Show, Comedy Central’s Stand Up Central, and BBC’s Live At The Apollo.

Carla Pol

Carla Pol

Pol moved from the Italian countryside to the UK (5 days after the EU referendum) to talk about rabbits, Italian people and the funny side of diversity. She was brought up in a small town near Venice on a farm for white rabbits and since her relocation has been on an Alice In Wonderland odyssey across Britain. A unique and memorable talent who has been a nominee and finalist in many comedy awards, and has just been confirmed as one of 10 finalists out of 200 hopefuls in the Manford’s Comedy Club new comedian of the year award.
